Harbor Club on Lake Oconee Marina Update
The Boathouse at Harbor Club on Lake Oconee is more than just a restaurant, and it’s more than just a marina too. After all, you don’t win an Aurora Award for ‘Best Recreational Facility in the Southeast’ as just one or the other. We’ve put a ton of thoughtful effort into making The Boathouse the best it can be for everyone to enjoy. With all it has to offer, it’s no wonder that it has become a vital part of both Harbor Club and the surrounding community.
To give you the scoop, we’ve put together an update on everything The Boathouse provides:
Restaurant
If you haven’t heard the latest news, we’ve been fortunate to acquire Adam Smith as the new head chef of the Boathouse Restaurant. He has updated the menu with some delicious new options, including his famous fish tacos, spicy green beans, and homemade hummus, just to name a few. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, including a dining deck overlooking the lake. There is also a banquet room available for special events.
Entertainment
If you’re a fan of live music, be sure to attend our free summer concert series, featuring a variety of talented singers, musicians, and bands. Follow our Facebook page to know when each of these live music events will be held. It makes for an exceptional summer evening to enjoy a concert and delicious food and drinks from the restaurant, not to mention indulging in the relaxed outdoor seating, fire pit, bocce ball, putting green, and grand lawn in front of the lake.
Marina
The Boathouse Marina operates year-round, seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. It offers two boat ramps, a community dock, and marine pumps with ethanol-free gasoline — one of the few marinas on Lake Oconee to do so. Harbor Club members receive a 10% discount on fuel, which is another great benefit of membership. And whether you’re a member or not, at our marina you don’t have to sweat getting your boat ready for a day on the lake. Just call the marina at (706) 817-7330 at least 45 minutes in advance, and our boat valets will have your vessel ready to go. Don’t have a boat? That’s ok too. You can easily rent one …or a Jet Ski, paddleboard, or kayak. The marina also has a general store making it super-convenient to grab your favorite snacks and sundries. You’ll find the store fully stocked with items such as soft drinks, beer, wine, ice, milk, eggs, sunscreen, nautical supplies and more.
Boat Storage
Our on-site boat storage facility, which offers 72 covered, dry storage spaces, is now fully leased with overflow. However, we are opening a second facility later this summer that will provide 72 more spaces. Ultimately, as many as 300 boat storage spaces will be available, making The Boathouse the largest marina on Lake Oconee. There are significant advantages to dry-stack storing your boat. One, it dramatically minimizes UV damage to your boat’s upholstery and gel coat from the sun. Two, it eliminates the need to transport your boat by a trailer, and three, it protects your boat from harsh weather conditions. And when it comes time to put the boat up for winter, we offer shrink wrapping to keep it even better protected during the colder months of non-use.
Location
Just a mile south of Richland Connector, The Boathouse is located just outside Harbor Club’s east gate at 3991 Walker Church Road. It’s situated on the Richland Creek side of Lake Oconee, which is renown for having the clearest water on the lake. Even better? We’re not far from the famous Sand Bar where everyone loves to drop anchor and hang out together on warm summer days.
As Georgia’s second largest lake, Oconee isn’t overly crowded like Lake Lanier often is. It’s also an easy, one-hour drive from Atlanta. We invite you to come visit us and see The Boathouse for yourself. You’ll be glad you did.
