Harbor Club Ladies League Hosts Volunteer Fair for the Community
The Harbor Club Ladies League recently hosted a Volunteer Fair that welcomed organizations dedicated to making a positive impact in the Lake Oconee community. The event brought together representatives from various nonprofit groups, including Victory Train, ATLAS, Oconee Regional Humane Society, Circle of Love, Christian Outreach & Thrift Store, Reading Buddies, First Call Pregnancy Center, The Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club, and The Greene College & Career Academy.
Debbie Cherry, a member of the Ladies League, expressed the inspiration behind the event, “We decided to have the Volunteer Fair to give our neighborhood and specifically our Ladies League Members an opportunity to see the wonderful organizations that support our community and to give our members and our neighbors a chance to get involved with these organizations.”
The Volunteer Fair was an open invitation to all, providing a fantastic opportunity for attendees to explore the many ways they can give back to their community. Representatives from each organization were on hand to share information about their missions, explain how people can get involved, and answer attendees’ questions.
For many, this was a chance not only to gather information but also to find causes that aligned with their personal passions, skills, and interests. Whether attendees were drawn to supporting education, offering aid to families in crisis, or assisting local animal shelters, the Volunteer Fair was a gateway to discovering meaningful opportunities.
Sponsored by the Harbor Club Ladies League, this event emphasized the importance of community involvement and how we can all make a difference together. If you missed this year’s event, be sure to stay tuned for future opportunities to connect with local organizations and get involved in volunteer work that matters to you.
